Literature Text

We're not poets,
We're scientists.
We don't understand love,
So let me tell you how I feel
In a way we both understand.

If I were an electron,
Your electronegativity would be a four.
You attract me with a force greater than
Strong Nuclear.
You are as perplexing as
The dual wave/particle nature of a photon.
You can be as difficult as the
Schrodinger equation,
And as beautiful as
Lithium during a flame test.
You stabilize me like a
Buffer solution,
And accept me like a
Lewis acid accepts an electron pair.
You are the greatest
Significant figure
In my life,
And for that,
I love you.
I needed to write a love poem, but chemistry is so distracting. I ended up merging the two.
Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful, just beautiful! Though as a chemist I take issue with your statement that scientists don't understand love. Don't single us out -- nobody understands love! :)
